President Museveni Lifts Lockdown, Public Transport To Resume This Week

By Wycliff G; The COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown in Uganda has been lifted after over 75days since its procession.

Its now confirmed that Public transport will resume soonest despite the thrilling margin of COVID-19 cases at the border entry points of the country.

During the Presidential COVID-19 address on Monday, H.E YK Museveni affirmed Public transport means like taxis, mini-buses, buses, within the non-border districts will resume work provided they carry one half of their normal capacity plus a conductor and driver.

He also opened up on banning public transport brokers in parks as it would be a threat to social distancing.

We do not want to see brokers in these parks for now,” he added.

However, Presidential Museveni ascertained that Boda Bodas will only be allowed to carry luggage and deliver commodities to clients.

Apparently, Public transport has been scheduled to resume by June, 4.
