Annet Nyakecho the Tororo north Member of parliament and her husband Gideon Onyango also the Samia -Bugwe north Member of Parliament were last week arrested for stealing a 4 months old baby.
According to police, the 4 months old baby was fathered by Nyakecho’s husband MP Onyango from a sex worker from Bweyogerere.
Joan Niwagira the mother of the baby says about one year back, MP Gideon Onyango while staying in Mukono approached her at her work place at Hipos bar in Bweyogerere and the two fell in love. Niwagira says Onyango promised her heaven and earth if she allowed him to have unprotected sex on addition that the Legislator was going to marry her.
It is also indicated that the poor Nuwagira agreed to MP Onyango’s proposals and took her to one of the lodges around Mukono where the Tororo man treated her to a cocktail of sex styles.
She says Onyango was busy with campaigns in Samia –Bugwe north elections and gave her shs 200,000/= and promised to come for another round after elections. She adds that after one month, MP Onyango came back and passed by her work place, picked her and went for more sex marathons at a nearby lodge.
“I later realized that i was pregnant but when I called Onyango about it, he blacklisted me and ordered me to abort .I did not do it because I feared that I would die. “Niwagira says.
It is indicated that MP Onyango after learning that Niwagira had not carried out the abortion, he stormed Bweyogerere and threatened to kill her if she refused to abort but she stood to her words. “I suffered with the pregnancy until I delivered a baby girl from Mengo hospital Mukono branch”. She added.
Efforts by Niwagira’s brother to persuade the MP to take care of the wife and pay the hospital bills fell on Onyango’s deaf ear and instead he threatened to look for him and kill him if he dared to beep on his phone again.
It is further indicated that after two months of delivery, Hon Onyango called Nuwagira to take the baby for a DNA taste. The DNA result proved that Onyango was 100% father of the baby. Niwagira further says that after DNA results pinned Onyango, he threatened to kill her if she doesn’t give him the baby.
The National Resistance Movement leaning Independent MP later used some goons with a help of some police officers to steal the baby from the mother from her rented Muzigo. It is indicated that this followed after MP Nyakecho got wind of it that the husband had fathered a baby from a Nyaru babe outside their wedlock.
The MP reportedly told Onyango that he should use all means and bring the baby home from a sex worker. Nuwagira later rushed to Bweyogerere police post and reported a case of kidnap and child neglect on file vide SD03/07/12/2017.
The Arrest
Hon Onyango was arrested on Thursday and detained at Bweyogerere police station. Nyakecho also tried to intervene for her husband rescue before she was also detained. The two were released later in the night after producing the child to the mother.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owesigire when contacted for a comment confirmed the matter and said the investigations were still on. Our efforts to get a comment from MP Onyango and Nyakecho were futile as both numbers were off by press time.
