A decomposing body of a yet to be identified man was on Monday afternoon discovered dumped deep in a bush a few meters away from Katabi Gombolola offices and Katabi Police Station. The identity of the deceased couldn’t be established however witnesses who saw the body say it had several injuries on the head and it is suspected that the body could have been dumped in the bush after being clobbered.
The deceased also had a bag on his back but with no documents to identify him. The Entebbe Police OC CID Daniel Batte says one suspect is behind bars at Entebbe Police Station.
Batte added that the arrested suspect in his statement revealed that he reportedly went to defect deep in the bush where he saw the body and immediately rushed to Entebbe Police Station to report the incident.
He revealed that the suspect will be interrogated more over the incident. He also called on the public and Katabi residents to avail more information to the Police.
“We suspect the body could have stayed in the bush for close to a week because it was already decomposing. I appeal to the general public to avail Police with any information regarding the deceased so that we can commence with the investigations. As long as we establish the identity of the deceased, we shall get the criminals,” Batte revealed.
