The State Minister for Transport Hon. Aggrey Bagiire has terminated law that has been permitting Ministers to have traffic right of ways.
Speaking at the second Road Safety Summit organized by Vivo Energy Uganda at Kampala Sheraton Hotel yesterday assured he will no longer be giving out lead cars as it has been his responsibility.
He also said it is high time all government ministers live by example as he has been because rights of way are signs of unfair treatment of citizens.
“The Law designates me to give out lead cars. As the officer in charge, I don’t have a lead car because I want to live by example. However, I see some people with lead cars. As ministers we donot have right of way,” stated Hon. Bagiire.
The summit was called to discuss the road safety report of 2018, draw plans and commit to reducing road carnage.
