By Wycliff G; Ugandan singer Bebe Cool in company of a team from NBS TV had a taste of Nigerians’ wrath as they were thrown out of the Nigerian High Commission in Nakasero on Tuesday evening.
Notwithstanding the fact that the ‘Wakayima’ singer largely influenced the fleeing of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems together with their team member Muyiwa Awoniyi, it took no a blink of an eye for one the Nigerian Embassy officials to humiliatingly march him out of the embassy.
Bebe Cool and NBS TV presenter, One Lord Keiyz later secured breathing space to hold their live interview but this time round outside the Nigerian High Commission premises.
Nigerians, Omah Lay, Tems and Muyiwa Awoniyi were arrested on Sunday and charged with infringement of the Ugandan government SOPs to curb COVID-19 after they performed at the Big Brunch concert which happened on Saturday 12th December 2020 at Ddungu Resort, Munyonyo.
They were presented before the Chief Magistrates Court of Makindye on Monday and later remanded at Kitalya prison (Omah Lay, Tems and Muyiwa Awoniyi) and Kigo Prison (Tems).
However, later on Tuesday charges on the on the three were dropped by court with aid from singer Bebe Cool working hand-in-hand with the Uganda Police Force and it ordered their immediate release from custody.
From their respective prisons, they were transported by Bebe Cool and handed them over to their home country representatives at the Nigerian High Commission in Nakasero where instead Bebe Cool was given a bitter reception his will live to tell.
