It announces the death of former Kampala Mayor Al-Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala (Seya), his brother and Kawempe North MP Latif Ssebagala has confirmed.
“It’s with great sadness that announce the death 😭💔of my older brother Al Hajj Nasser Ntege Sebaggala. INNALILAHI WAINAILAYHI RAJUAN,” Latif Ssebagala Sengendo wrote on his social media.
However, Ssebagala’s cause of death is yet disclosed.
“”Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return.” May Allah grant him Paradise. More details to follow,” Latif added.
The late was earlier this month reported in an ailing status and admitted at Kampala International Hospital (IHK) after slippering and falling in his home bathroom while taking a shower.
He had earlier made a surprise resurface into the media after declaring intensions to contest for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat in the forthcoming elections.
Nasser Ntege Sebaggala, born 15 November 1947 was a Ugandan businessman and politician who was Mayor of Kampala from 2006 to 2011.
He was an independent presidential candidate in the 2006 general election before dropping out and joining the Kampala mayoral race.
