NEEMA officials together with security led an operation that saw property of people who illegally started using this wetland loose everything including homes and crop gardens.
Kasasira noted that this caused hanger among the users who decided to attack homes of those that were pushing for the eviction including the deceased who has been the chairman of the committee working with ACCORD that was against the wetland encroachers. Several homes have been attacked, banana plantations cut down and cattle slaughtered.
Police later swung into action, visited the crime scene, did the Post-mortem at the scene and handed over the body to relatives for burial.
