Police in the Kampala metropolitan area has arrested Dorothy Ndagire, a woman who purports to work for an NGO called Maya Project in Uganda, working with other UK organizations training Ugandan underage girls to sleep with dogs.
Ndagire was arrested at a guest house on Muyenga Hill on Friday. Police also rescued 14 young girls between the age of 14 and 19 who were allegedly training to go and work abroad.
The girls were allegedly being trained to conduct weird sex acts including alleged sleeping with dogs. They were allegedly being prepared to travel to Europe.
Police indicated that the organization was also not registered under Ugandan Laws, neither were the training teenage children free to be in the area without the consent of their parents and guardians.
Police according to the Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Oyowesigire was tipped off by concerned residents within Makindye Division and immediately raided Papaya Holiday Home in Muyenga where the young girls were found.
The oldest girl found in the training area, 19 years old is said to be a senior six student at Namungoona Parents SS in Rubaga.
“We went to the guest house and found the girls living in bad conditions and the information we got is that they were being forced to sleep with dogs,” Oyowesigire says.
Oyowesigire indicated that a charge of trafficking in children is being preferred against Ndagire who is in custody aiding investigations.
The girls rescued are currently being kept under undisclosed shelter for safety as the police find their homes.
Section 5 of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act of 2009 provides for an offense of trafficking in children where a person who recruits, transports, transfers, harbors or receives a child for the purpose of exploitation shall commit an offense of aggravated trafficking in children and may be liable to suffer a death penalty.
