On a day like this ten years ago, Kampala witnessed one of the biggest, beautiful, and most elegant weddings the Pearl of Africa has ever seen.
It was the wedding day of one of the nation’s biggest artistes, putting a ring on a finger of a humble woman that would later shape the singer into a global icon and political bigwig. It was Bobi Wine and Barbie’s union day.
Barbie and Bobi made history when they tied the knot at Rubaga Cathedral in a ceremony that was attended by almost everyone of Kampala’s A-Listers, presided over by the late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.
Barbie said “I do” to the man of her dreams after ten years of their cohabiting which had given forth to two beautiful children.
Today, she looks back and celebrates her anniversary after making 10 years in a holy marriage. Through her socials, Barbie has shared a message to celebrate.
“10 years of holy matrimony, 20 years of true friendship. Happy anniversary Taata,” She posted.
The couple has officially made twenty years in their marriage.
“Taata, see how far we have come! Can you even believe that today marks Ten years of holy Matrimony and Twenty years of companionship and true friendship? Yo! Where does time go? It’s only recently that you stood on the National theater main stage and recited those lines in “Lady Will You Marry Me?”Mr. Cat, how is it even twenty years now? The almighty is gracious and so merciful. His mighty hand has held our union together with the toughest and most sticky glue that there is in his kingdom!
“HAPPY ANNIVERSARY COMRADE HONEY! You have flawlessly, gracefully and almost skillfully sailed our union through all the times and I can not be more proud to have a life partner as you! For better and for worse, till death do us part!” Kyagulanyi’s wife posted.
All this comes just a day after the Ghetto First Lady was embroiled in skirmishes and running battles with police and security agencies in Nakaseke district.
Barbie had gone to Naksaseke, along with other NUP members of parliament to deliver supplies to a local hospital and pregnant women. Police would intercept and block the event leading to teargas and live bullets being fired which resulted in two journalists being reported wounded by stray bullets.
