We Are Protecting Bobi Wine From Being Killed By External Enemies – Minister Tumwebaze Reveals

The senior Minister of Information and National Guidance, Frank Tumwebaze has revealed shocking evidence why state security organizations are stopping Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine’s concerts. While appearing on NBS TV, the minister said that, “These issues of opposition and police bore me. I am reluctant to blame the police for doing its work.

I am very sure the opposition benefit from it and they benefit from it politically. They get sympathy from people, they get extra visibility.” He added that national security leadership advised them to leave them to do their work because they have security intelligence that both external and internal national enemies can kill Bobi to distabilize the country and put the burden on government. He added that Ugandans and mostly the supporters of Bobi Wine must understand that their person is no longer a musician they used to see, but a national figure and whatever happens to him concerns government.

It should be remembered that there is a security intelligence report showing that there are external enemies who plan to assassinate the top national leaders with an aim of distabilizing the national security and forcing the natives to riot against the NRM government.

Over 124 of Bobi Wine’s concerts have been stopped nationwide by security agencies. The maverick minister also warned Ugandans from criticizing the judges over the age limit judgement. He said that all the violence that took place in parliament was pre-organized by the opposition members to disorganise other members not to pass the age limit bill. He pinned the togikwatako members of parliament for coming to parliament with weapons like razorblades to cut their colleagues who were in support of scraping the age limit cap from the constitution.

Tumwebaze’s comments rubbed some opposition members especially Mukono municipality member of parliament Betty Nambooze and Kampala city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago the wrong way.

A furious Nambooze ran to her Facebook account branded Tumwebaze a fool. “A fool has used the morning breeze on NBS to say that we Opposition MPs went to Parliament with razorblades to cut NRM MPs during the Togikwatako debate that is why the army had to come in….I can’t continue listening; Njala forgive me. Let me get ready to go to Court, am told my sister Stella Nyanzi is at Buganda road court today,” Nambooze stated.  The Lord Mayor who was a also a top lawyer representing the six members of parliament in the controversial age limit case attacked Tumwebaze over his remarks.

“State agencies are used to flagrantly violate the Bill of rights, cause mayhem and put one’s life in harm’s way, and then you hear a whole Minister make such irresponsible statements, that the NRM Party blamed Police for making opposition figureheads heroes! Very sickening!” the Furious Lukwago noted.  Lukwago is a senior member of the Uganda Law Society to strongly attackers the supreme court judges to rule in favour of age limit.
