By Website reporter;

The General Court Martial at Makindye has sentenced Boda Boda 2010 patron Hajji Abudallah Kitatta and his bodyguard Detective Constable Sowali Ngobi to serve 8years, 8 months and 6 days at Luzira prison on charges of being in illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

The court’s chairman  Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti has ruled that the duo deserved to serve a maximum sentence of ten years but he has been lenient enough to deduct the one and half months period that they have each spent on remand at Luzira.

The court has also considered that Kitatta and Ngobi are first offenders who have no criminal record yet there is no proof that the contentious guns ever fired a bullet.

However, the Court has been alive to the fact that the Kitatta and Ngobi were convicted of a rampant and prevalence offence of possessing illegal guns and ammunition which has caused a lot of Mayhem in society hence finding a proper and deserving sentence to the duo.

The 2 have also been advised to appeal the Court’s finding within 14 days of they feel not satisfied with it.

Kitatta and Ngobi were Monday convicted by the same court on 4 counts of being in possession of firearms and ammunition without a valid firearms certificate.

They have been on trial with 8 other people but were all freed Monday, May 13 when the court acquitted them of being in illegal possession of Military attires.
