Gal Power is a Ugandan versatile rising female artist based in the United Kingdom.
In an encounter with her, the ‘Nsekula’ singer narrated her journey that any female gender would yearn to listen to and draw inspiration from.
Being brought up from a humble background, Gal Power has had many reasons for her hard work and faith to keep going towards her dream career.
Here she narrates;
As change changes our life preferences, I joined a boarding school, and it became so hard to be part of the international church choir because it demanded a lot of practice and that was another bullet at heart.
After my S4, I moved to London but I never had a chance to carry on with my music due to the busy life in London. I faced a lot of challenges as a young gal with no parents but i kept going and meditating to God and i believed soon or i would witness the most beautiful views on top of the mountain. But one thing I will never forget is the death that grabbed my handsome grandfather whom I loved with all my breath and bones. It completely mashed me into pieces! But writing and composing music inside my room kept me going and I started writing my grandfather’s favorite songs.
In 2015 , I started a WhatsApp group called “Gal power Entertainment” where we could meet after work and sing and this group was occupied by people from different countries and we all felt like same family.

On 17/01/2016, I organized a party for my fans and friends of Gal power Entertainment in Uganda. After my party I intended to meet a gal called Rannie the diva and Kezzy wizzy my daily followers on Facebook also shared some WhatsApp groups with me, who begged me to at least record a song in studio because they believed in my talent.
In their own words , they said that they believed I got all it takes to be a great singer, artist, celebrity and I remember that time I cried after listening to their words. So I welcomed Kezzy wizzy to our house in Namasuba-Entebbe road with my relatives. We all listened to the message he delivered from Rannie diva, a girl I had never met before who had that substantial belief in me.
It was then decided that I hit studio to record my first song ‘Nsekula’ which project I received brilliant guide from Bless touch and producer Ricky expendable. After, I flew back to London and shot a video with Director Vjoj and surprisingly people embraced it extremely more than I expected despite less promotional plan for it.
To be honest, I didn’t consider my music a serious career instead a hobby since its part of me not until singer Jose Chameleone whom I looked upon as my role model and music teacher came to perform in London last year. He chose to musically lift me with a collabo that was such a serious breath-taking for me because I never saw it coming ever. I picked a strong admiration for Jose Chameleone when I was young because of his musical message and response to his enemies through music.
Since he is a hardworking and determined man, I knew God is telling me to rise-up and also share the different messages using my voice to his people. At this juncture, I started perceiving professional music dropping the “hobby music” mind.
On the 31/05/2019, we are officially released ‘Gimpe’ video.
Not forgetting, music legendary Jose Chameleone’s collaboration, struck other opportunities for me and as I talk now, I released another video last month “Eyes for you” which I did with Reggae artist ‘Nesbeth’ famously known for his all-time hit song ‘My dream’.
For the past 3 years, I have used talent to lift, empower and support Stroke survivors, disabled and homeless people of Camden town in the heart of London which has been a stepping stone in my public healthy career.
I am also focusing at spreading my love, advice and appreciation all over the world using music. Its my dream to represent Uganda globally using my gift from God.
Music is my life and it’s part of me. Eat your food I will service with music.
