By Wycliff G; The Latest news reaching our newsroom sound unpleasant especially to the family of Trade minister Amelia Kyambade after her uncle ‘John Ssenseko Kulubya’ passing-on. Mr. Kulubya has been reported dead at Case Clinic Kampala early this morning after persistent health complications.
Earlier this year, Mr. Kulubya was grievously reported ill after his personal medical team confirming he was suffering from multiple complications. This included a severe stroke he first suffered prompting the medical teams to advise his family not to waste time flying him abroad.
Then as he continued undergoing specialized treatment at home, his kidney-related complications also escalated prompting family doctors to immediately put him on a dialysis machine to prolong his life.
John Ssenseko Kulubya has been an engineer by profession and businessman, and politician. He was reported in 2012 to be one of the wealthiest people in that country owning buildings and sizable tracts of land (25%) in prime areas of the capital city of Kampala and in other areas of Uganda’s Central Region.
He was born in Uganda circa 1935. His father is the late Sserwano Ssenseko Wofunira Kulubya (CBE), who served as mayor of Kampala from 1959 until 1961 and was the first African mayor of Uganda’s capital city.
Kulubya also ran, unsuccessfully for the position of Mayor of Kampala, in 2006.
Ssenseko Kulubya has been married and is the father of four children.
As Imbaraga, we condole with the family and friends of the late, Rest In Peace John Ssenseko Kulubya.
