UGANDA POLICE FROCE END THREE WEEK LEADERSHIP COURSE AIMED AT WOMEN TAKING UP LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

MUWANGA DEO: In a continued effort by the police leadership to implement the gender policy, police officers have today concluded a three-week transformation leadership course at the Police Senior Command and Staff College, Bwebbaja under the theme: ‘Towards a more gender responsive and effective police force’.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Sabiiti Muzeyi who presided over the closing ceremony encouraged officers to work hard towards their targets. “As a leader, whether male or female, there are lessons you need which are similar to the principals of marksmanship, One of them is to prepare (identify your target), focus (aim ), implement (shoot) , evaluate (follow through) ,” said the DIGP.

The facilitation team led by MUBS Principal, Prof. Waswa Balunywa said participants were through several topics including socialization process, sexual abuse and exploitation, challenges women in UPF face, leadership and management in organizations, communication skills, career planning, team work and healthy living.
