By Wycliff G; Ugandan President H.E Y. K Museveni has listed public physical exercises among the prohibited activities during this COVID-19 Lockdown.
During the State of nation address on Wednesday 8th April, at State House Nakasero, President Museveni banned physical exercises and workouts in public.
Public Physical exercise had out merged as the only routine left during the country lockdown with tremendous numbers of people often sighted on streets in Kampala suburbs every morning and evening working out.
This was a health threat to the public as it ruined one of the World Health Organizations’ Corona Virus preventive measures of ‘Social distancing’.
However, President Museveni has advised the public to carry out physical exercises on personal basis at in their homes.
He also promised to record and publish a video of himself doing the workouts in his home so as the public would take a good example on how its done best during the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown.
“I saw a video of so many people on the Northern bypass walking and running around that, they are exercising. This should stop. If you want to exercise, you can do that indoors. I will show you how it is done tomorrow. I will do a video for you,” said President Museveni.
