Massacre At 88.2 Sanyu FM As Unfairly Sacked Staff Plan To Sue Boss

By Wycliff G; It’s a do or die session at 88.2 Sanyu FM as its workers go head-to-head with their bosses (Ruparelia Group) over what they claim to be unlawful dismissal.

The sacked staff body has already taken-over the radio station’s social media accounts and now comfortably unleashing thriller to the management.

Having came across some of Sanyu FM’s posts on Twitter, we confirm to you that its really a bloody season for the two counterparts’ secrets are being leaked to the public.

Grasping a bit of the information dumped on the handles, a 25% pay cut negotiation between the employees and the station management fell-apart and it sent the workers stage a sit-down strike.

Unfortunately, this didn’t ride smoothly as planned by the staff body when the management decided to have them fired.

One of the workers is James Onen aka FatBoy, famous with ‘The Breakfast Show’ who has been at the station for over 21 years.

S.O.S S.O.S You may have heard that we have been unfairly fired for a sit-down strike for protesting a 25% pay cut while we work. This is not in the spirit of fair negotiations between Sanyu FM and its staff,” they twitted.

To the worst twist, the staff in collective effort have now considering to dump their top boss, Sudhir Ruparelia to courts of law over the unfair sacking of his workers.

They have called upon any lawyer willing to take on Sudhir in this lawsuit to cooperate with them at any desirable cost.

We are considering legal action against Sanyu FM for wrongful/unfair dismissal. Any lawyers who are not afraid of taking on Sudhir please get in touch with us,” they stated.

James Onen part of the fired staff by tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia at Sanyu FM.

However, they have further set chance for Sanyu FM management to cool the on-going ruckus by advising it to prepare a round table to negotiation with them emphasizing respect of the labour act of Uganda 58, 89 and 78.

What do Sanyu FM staff want? We want to be treated fairly based on the labour laws of Uganda. We would like the management of Sanyu FM to sit down and negotiate with us collectively based on labour act of Uganda 58, 89 and 78.

They further draw deep apologizes for having chose to expose the company’s secrets and social media takeover but are comfortable with their playback to the management after it demeaned their remarkable efforts.

This was not our first choice of communication with Sanyu FM management however, they chose not to treat us fairly in accordance to the law and fired us arbitrarily and left us no choice,” they added.

We are skeptical on any positive response by the two parties especially after the staff promising to continue messing the brand’s twitter account with more confidential information.

Hopefully, if they are willing to negotiate, this will be our last tweet.”

We will keep you posted as the saga unfolds
