Govt eases COVID-19 Lockdown with Gyms, massage parlors, casinos and gaming centers reopened

By Wycliff G; The Uganda National Task Force has eased the 8 months-old lockdown that saw Gyms, massage parlors, casinos and gaming centers terminated from operation amidst the Corona Virus Pandemic global outbreak.

This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng as she scheduled Saturday 14 Nov. 2020 as the official reopening date.

Dr. Acheng also noted that, the number of people attending political rallies, processions, weddings, meetings are increased from 70 to not more than 200 people.

This must be practiced with maximum adherence to SOPs.

Mobile markets will also begin their operations starting Saturday 14th November 2020, if the local Governments have empowered the leaders with the SOPs developed by the Ministry of Trade Uganda in consultation with Ministry of Health.

She further adiated that considering the phase of the epidemic Uganda is in, with rising cases and deaths in urban areas, suspension on bars and discotheques will continue.
