By Website writer; The social media war between the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations and Commander of SFC (Uganda) at the same time first son, Lt. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and National Unity Platform (NUP), Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi is sharpening day after day.
Forget their youthful feats of 2020, this time round it’s a verbal blood shed being tweeted.
The blistering attack was initiated by Bobi Wine when he threw mockery comments on Gen. Muhoozi’s promotional rank from a ‘Major General’ to a ‘Lieutenant General’.
Through his Twitter account, Bobi Wine questioned why Gen. Muhoozi had to delete his new ranks from his Twitter profile.
“Tweets from Muhoozi Keinerugaba, Dictator Museveni’s son! M7 gifted him with rank of Lt. General! I guess he deleted them after waking up from a drunken stupor! I’ve seen most Ugandans mock & laugh at him, but it shd worry us this is the group with guns in charge of our security!” Bobi Wine wrote.
In a series of tweets on Sunday January 3, 2021, Gen. Muhoozi took it to his social media to fire-back at Bobi Wine’s ‘drunken stupor’ claims against him.
The newly named Special Forces Command head, sought Bobi Wine to be against majority of the Ugandans who have an experience of waking-up from ‘Drunken stupor’.
He also reveals his pride of representing such people that Bobi Wine despises.
“Gen. Muhoozi: Tweets from Bobi Wine, So you have a thing against the millions of Ugandans and the billions of human beings who have ever woken up from a ‘Drunken stupor’ as you call it? Well, then I’m proud to represent those fellow human beings that you despise! May they live long and prosper!” a tweet from Gen. Muhoozi reads.
In a blink of an eye, the NUP head had responded to Gen. Muhoozi’s consolation message with lamentations on the Military uniform that he dresses.
Bobi Wine proved disappointed by Gen. Muhoozi wearing “their” uniform as other decent militarists committed to defending the country do.
“The real insult to our nation is that you wear our uniform! Such an embarrassment to the decent men & women in uniform who work hard to keep our nation safe. The criminals you arm to murder & torture citizens won’t save you & your father when citizens rise up to defend themselves.”
Gen. Muhoozi rushed to hit back as he questioned Bobi Wine’s uniform ownership him being a fellow Ugandan with equal rights.
He also demeaned Bobi Wine’s political ideas to service Ugandans and assured him a statement soon from the natives.
“Your’ uniform? Who are you? I thought you were a Ugandan like me? Your cheap politicking about embarrassments to service men and women will be absolutely shown for what they are anytime you want.”
The rant was further lengthened to the tribal version as Bobi Wine recalled Gen. Muhoozi’s comments on why he was recently given a foreign name ‘Musinguzi’.
Bobi Wine justified himself to be possessing this name by marrying from the Banyankole culture.
“One more thing, the Banyankore did not just give me the name Musinguzi! They gave me their daughter, my wife, and that means I am their son. They are not as hateful and as tribalistic as you are. Stop misrepresenting my in-laws!”
Gen. Muhoozi cheapened Bobi Wine’s legal marriage from the Banyankole culture as he was never consulted before it happened.
“This is a completely impossible act! I’m a Munyankore, born and bred but I was never consulted when the ‘Banyankore’ gave you their daughter. It seems you don’t know the Banyankore and their customs.”
Gen. Muhoozi’s comments have left many contemplating his leadership in the Banyankole culture.
His statements have also been branded to be tribalistic.
However, Gen. Muhoozi nullified Twitter users’ digestion of his words after Bobi Wine’s claims.
“One of the biggest problems with some of our people on Twitter is a failure to understand basic English. When someone says ‘Banyankore did not just give me the name…They gave me their daughter…’ That means the entire people took that decision. That means everyone from that..”
