Sources close to Kawempe North MP elect Muhammad Ssegirinya have decried the ever-deteriorating health conditions of the Kampala leader as his body starts releasing purse. Unconfirmed reports also told this news site that the KCCA lord councilor’s body has started rotting, even when medical officers in Kenya are doing all it takes to treat him.
“We are worried. We expected that by now, he would have recovered or respond positively to medication. However, what we are seeing is disturbing.” The source said. The MP was flown to Nairobi after intensified checkups in Kampala. The MP fell ill just after being released from Kitalya government prison where he spent more than three weeks.
He had been arrested following a peaceful demonstration he held demanding the release of several NUP supporters behind bars in Kitalya and other prisons across the country.
He also faces other election charges after his competitor, Mr Suleiman Kidandala petitioned court, questioning Ssegirinya’s academic qualifications.
However, the electoral commission has since defended the MP elect arguing that he was duly nominated and all his academic qualifications are duly valid and verified.
Some of his close relatives and friends have now asked the People of Kampala to pray for the MP elect to ensure that he survives.
