President museveni invites former 2021 presidentail candidates for swearing in. Hon. Kyagulanyi, others react to the invitation

The government has invited all former presidential candidats who participated in the 2021 general election that took place on February 14th, 2021 to attend H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Wednesday 12th May 2021 at Kololo Grounds.

speaking to journalists at the Uganda media center on the 4th of May,  the minister for presidency Ester Mbayo said that the government has invited the former presidential candidates that participated in the 2021 election, Newly elected members of parliament among other dignitaries.

Commenting on the issue of invitation, the National Unity Party Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said that they have not yet received a letter of invitation but even if Hon. Kyagulanyi was invited, he would not attend the swearing-in ceremony because they believe the elections were not free and fair.

John Katumba said he has not yet decided on whether he will attend the ceremony while joseph Kabuleta said he had not yet received an invitation letter but still maintained he won’t attend giving the same reasons as Kyagulanyi.

Engineer Willy Mayambala said he would attend the meeting stressing that he was unemployed at was willing to work with the president.

Museveni was declared the winner by the Uganda Electoral commission with 58 percent of the poll, add to his 35 years in office.
