Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works and Transport and a four-star general in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has survived death after he was shot on Tuesday morning in his home area in Kisaasi a kampala suburb
the General who sustained injuries was travelling with his daughter Hellen Wamala Nantongo when the incident happened but unfortunately she together with the driver Wamala Nantongo did not survive.
the Army spokes person Flavia Byekwaso confirmed the incident
“There was a shooting involving him … he is hurt and he’s been taken to the hospital, his driver was killed,” she said
General Katumba Wamala who has been receiving treatment sent out a video showing hopes of recovery.
”All my children, I will be fine. I have survived. we have lost Brenda” he says in part of the video
Gen Katumba has been serving as Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan cabinet, since 14 December 2019
