By Website Writer; H.E Gen. YK Tibuhabura Museveni has also blamed Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala in his recent assassination attempt.
During his address to the nation regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic on Sunday, President Museveni spared some time and hint at security issues in Uganda especially Gen. Katumba’s assassination attempt.
President Museveni said that Gen. Katumba blundered by not taking his security follow-up car with him yet he should be by law.
“Gen Katumba had also made mistakes, he was moving without a follow car yet he is supposed to have it. If he had moved with it, it wouldn’t have been easy for him to get attacked,” President Museveni said.
On June 1, 2021, Gen. Katumba Wamala narrowly survived death after assailants spouted his car with bullets leaving his 32year-old daughter, Brenda Nantongo Wamala, and driver Haruna Kayondo dead on spot.
The attack was at Kisota road, Kisaasi a suburb of Kampala as they tried to head to Najjanankumbi for Gen. Katumba Wamala’s mother-in-law’s vigil.
