President Museveni serves another lockdown, here are the new COVID-19 guidelines

Here President Museveni shared the resolutions and measures passed by the National Task Force to curb the new awful wave of COVID-19 Pandemic in Uganda.

This was live on different radio and TV stations across the country kicking off at 8:00 pm.

Here is a summary of the new COVID-19 Standard of Operation Procedures passed by Presidential address on June 6, 2021:

  1. All schools to schools for 42 days effective tomorrow 08th.06.2021 by 8 am.
  2. All teachers must be vaccinated before they enter the school premises.
  3. Communal prayers are banned for 42 days. Online prayers are encouraged.
  4. The public or cultural gathering is suspended for 42 days with the exception of cabinet meetings after thorough screening.
  5. Travel from category A country is suspended (India).
  6. Agricultural activities continue because they don’t encourage crowding.
  7. Non-Agricultural activities allowed to continue are factories, malls, supermarkets with strict adherence to the MoH guidelines.
  8. Gathering points such as factories, plantations, and taxi parks are allowed to operate with strict SOPs.
  9. Marriage ceremonies and other functions are allowed to have only 20 participants.
  10. House parties are suspended.
  11. The number of persons at funerals should not exceed 20.
  12. Monthly and weekly markets are suspended for 42 days.
  13. All public transport from district to district is suspended for 42 by the 10th of June.2021, except between Kampala and Wakiso.
  14. Essential and emergency transport is allowed.
  15. Public transport is allowed within the district.
  16. Cargo trucks are allowed to carry only two people.
  17. Bars, nightclubs, discotheques, concerts remain closed.
  18. All sports activities are allowed without spectators, player must have a PCR test.
  19. All public places must adhere to the sops, encourage people to work from home, encourage 30% presence of staff to work at one point.
  20. Private cars should have only 3 passengers, should only move within the district, inter-district is suspended.
  21. Ambulances are allowed to operate normally.
  22. Shopping Malls should close by 7 pm.
  23. Pharmacy can operate beyond 7 pm.
  24. Food markets should close by 7 pm.
  25. Lodges should operate without bars with strict adherence to the SOPs because drunkards can’t understand SOPs.
  26. Curfew remains from 9 pm to 5:30 am.
  27. Boda Bodas to operate until 6pm.
  28. All the above directives, take immediate effect.
