By Website Writer; The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah has said that three-thirds of the total vulnerable Ugandans have received Covid-19 relief funds.
Statistically, a total of 413,504 vulnerable Ugandans (82.5%) had received Covid relief funds as of today, July 21, 2021.
This translates into Shs41,350,400,000 out of the Shs53.5b released by the Ministry of Finance.
The funds are intended to cushion them against the effects of the lockdown, according to govt.
Hon. Nabbanja also disclosed that out of the total of the 501,107 records submitted, 87,603 records did not pass the verification requirements by Telecom Databases.
The failed numbers have been sent back to the cities/ municipalities for corrections before payment can be done, according to the PM.
