By Website Writer: Kawempe North constituency legislator, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya has rejected the Shs. 200Million from parliament. The whooping Shs.200Million is a mandatory amount of money that every new member of Parliament receives from the government to purchase his/her own a brand-new ride for parliamentary duties.
Taking it to his social media on Monday, the self-proclaimed ‘Mr. Update’ insisted that he will stick on riding in his old Raum car with a ‘UAT’ registration number as he travels both to parliament and his consistency.
Hon. Ssegirinya says spending the 200Million in buying a new car is uncalled-for especially during such a time when his Kawempe North people’s livelihoods are worrying.
“I will be driving my Raum UAT while going to both my constituency and parliament. Nothing is exciting me to buy a car worth 200M yet my people of Kawempe North are not doing well. Good morning comrades,” Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya stated.
