By Website Writer; Speaker of the 11th Parliament of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Jacob Oulanyah is back after almost two months out of office.
Speaker Oulanyah was received by several members of parliament including those from the opposition.
Hon. Oulanyah first visited the Deputy Speaker Hon. Anitah Among’s Chambers on his return from leave.
The Government Chief Whip, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa also welcomed Speaker Jacob Oulanyah to his office.
The Leader of the Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga also hosted Speaker Jacob Oulanyah who was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Anitah Among and Government Chief Whip, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.
He then proceeded to attend the orientation workshop for the Opposition MPs that is organized by the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.
Speaking to the press, Prime Minister Hon. Robinah Nabbanja was expectant for Speaker Oulanyah to accomplish his pending duties.
“Now that the Speaker is back, we expect that he continues from where his deputy stopped. The House is also full of new members who require guidance,” PM Robinah Nabbanja on the return of Speaker.
He last presided over Parliament at the reading of the 2021/2022 financial year budget.
This puts to rest rumors that Hon. Oulanyah was ill and had been hospitalized abroad.
