By Website Writer; Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech’s body has safely arrived in his ancestral home, Pader, Northern region of Uganda.
It’s such a sombre mood as Pader receives their son in a casket from a UPDF Military chopper.
The deceased will be laid to rest tomorrow Friday, August 27, 2021.
A procession is on in the town of Pader to give his people a chance to pay their last respect.
“The Body of the Former Deputy Inspector General of Police the Late Maj Gen Paul Lokech has been received in Pader where he will be laid to rest at his ancestral home,” stated UPDF Spokesperson.
Maj. Gen. Lokech succumbed to a blood clot on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at his home in Kira Municipality, Wakiso district.
Lokech suffered a fracture of his right ankle about 3 to 4 weeks before his death. He was managed as an outpatient, by his private orthopedic surgeon.
The affected ankle was put in a cast. He was scheduled to see his doctor on the morning of his death.
At autopsy, the team of pathologists found a large blood clot in one of the veins in the right calf, a condition is known as deep venous thrombosis (DVT).
Proceeding to the lungs, the pathologists found both pulmonary arteries blocked by massive blood clots.
They concluded that the patient died from sudden, bilateral massive venous thromboembolism.
Rest in Peace Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech!
