By Website Writer; There is at least a bundle of joy to walk away within the camp of Kawempe North legislature, Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya despite his remand at Kitalya prison.
This is after the High Court ruling on Tuesday, dismissing an application from his rival Sulaiman Kidandala challenging Ssegirinya’s January election victory for Kawempe North Constituency.
The High Court ruling was on grounds that Mr. Kidandala and his camp didn’t rightfully serve Hon. Ssegirinya with the petition as he was in Kitalya prison on charges of inciting violence by then.
Muhammad Ssegirinya winning the petition implies he is now the Kawempe North MP 2021 – 2026.
However, Kindadala vowed to appeal the High Court ruling as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad and Makindye West MP, Hon. Ssewanyana Allan were on Tuesday evening remanded to Kitalya Prison over the ongoing murders in Greater Masaka.
They were charged with four counts, 3 of murder and 1 of attempted murder. Hon. Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana will spend 108 days on remand before their hearing but will be appearing every after 14 days.
