By Website Writer: Renowned National Resistance Movement (NRM) blogger, Isma Lubega a.k.a Isma Olaxess has attacked the Parliament of Uganda for criticizing ‘Operation Shujja’ by the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Appearing on a local TV channel, Isma Olaxess discredited the Parliament of Uganda’s claim that it was a requirement for it to be consulted by the UPDF before its operation in DRC.
Isma Olaxess says the Ugandan Parliament is not credible enough to be involved in such issues.
This is because its endowed with sensationalism, gossip and comedy from the members of Parliament instead of serious business concerning national matters.
“Consulting Parliament would have been the right thing to do but the nature of parliament consulted also matters. Our Parliament is all about sensationalism. It is more like a gossip or comedy show,” Isma Olaxess said.
‘Operation Shujja’, a joint military operation by Uganda and DRC launched in November has since seen been a success.
It will mainly focus on weakening identified enemy camps in Yayuwa, Tondoli, Beni One and Beni Two.
Rebel camps of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) demolished and also a number of them killed.
According to Maj Gen. Kayanja Muhanga who’s commanding Operation Shujja against the ADF rebel group in DRC, UPDF is more determined to completely erase the terrorists from the region.
“A lot of air force and artillery will be used on enemy camps to disrupt any further plan for war,” Maj Gen. Kayanja Muhanga.
