10years of success: HiPipo Music Awards’ glamorous 2021 event

By Website Writer; The 10th HiPipo Music Awards, held at Mestil Hotel on Friday 10/12/2021, were nothing short of a rip-roaring success!

HiPipo was already patting its selves on the back for the fact that they it had reached a decade worth of awards and events.

This longevity doubly speaks to not only the dedication HiPipo Music Awards has exhibited consistently and persistently staging this gala and presenting these awards, it also reaffirms the trust the artistes and the public, nationally, regionally and continentally, continue to have in HiPipo Music Awards.

Let this longevity quash all qualms about the HiPipo legitimacy, about its way of doing things.

From the red carpet to the venue, HiPipo knew it had to present something worthy of erasing the two-year wait it had all had for a truly glamourous gala.

For HiPipo, this was more than an awards event, it was also a celebration and a ‘thank you’ to those that have entertained and cheered it during some of the most trying times in recent memory.

To top it off, of course, had to be performances to match. And in that regard, there was no disappointment whatsoever.

Solid mainstays like; Afande Miah, Victor Kamenyo, Jehovah Shalom and Levixone were joined by exciting up-and-comers like gospel starlet Becky Nakaayi.

But the true show-stoppers were none other than Uganda’s greatest band, an ensemble whose timelessness and awesomeness remain as inspirational as ever, the great Afrigo Band.

They truly brought the house down, and turned the gala into the party we knew it would ultimately be.

The fact that front-man Moses Matovu won a Lifetime Achievement Award speaks to what HiPipo is all about, rewarding the talent and creativity of Africa’s finest from studio to stage.
