By Website Writer; Ugandan veteran radio presenter Herbert Kyewalyanga alias Herbie K (The Usual Suspect) is inundated with bundles of joy after winning the Janzi Awards.
The renowned ‘Uganda One’ show host on 90.8 Metro FM bagged Janzi accolade after beating rivals; Musa Semwanga (New Vision) and Isaac Ssejombwe (Nation Media) in the Music Journalist category.
The good news was first made public by the Entertainment Journalists Association Uganda (EJAU) where is sits as the President.
“We all congratulate our dia president Herbie K upon his award as the best music Jounalist Janzi Awards 2021. Congratulations mr president,” reads a tweet by EJAU.
With his hefty and husky voice, Herbie K is popular known for laying such a phenomenal foundation of airplay for a mammoth of talent in Uganda.
Herbie K who also dubbed as a ‘Humble Lion’, has on countless occasions been celebrated by a number of musicians that have made it to stardom in the last two decades.
The inaugural ceremony of the Janzi Awards went down on Saturday December 11, 2021 at Kololo Independence Grounds.
Uganda Development Forum (UDF), the event saw several stakeholders from different spheres of the economy attend and awarded for their brilliance in performance.
UDF is a national network of state and non-state actors united by a shared commitment to propel sustainable socio-economic development in line with the aspirations of the people of Uganda, as articulated in Uganda Vision 2040.
