50 Ugandan MPs test positive for COVID-19

By Website Writer; News reaching our desk is that 50 Ugandan Members of Parliament have tested positive for Corona Virus.

This was announced during the Parliamentary sitting in the year 2021 held on Tuesday December 21, 2021.

The flock includes both MPs and staff who participated in EAC legislative assemblies’ Games in Arusha, Tanzania in the recent weeks.

Apparently, they are being managed by Ministry of Health and Parliament health team as none of them is reported in a dire state yet.

According to the Ministry of Health, results of COVID-19 tests done country wide on 18th December 2021 confirm 258 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are 129,319.

The breakdown of the new cases is; 249 Alerts and Contacts: Wakiso (134), Kampala (97), Amuru (7), Kiryandongo (2), Adjumani (1), Mityana (1) Kyotera (5), Jinja (2) 9 Truck drivers; Kyotera (7), Amuru (2).

Little panic arises in Uganda as the number of Covid 19 cases spree in the last 7days with reported Omicron variant existence.

This comes in almost a month after H.E YK Museveni promised to fully open up the economy in January 2022.
