On his way back to Entebbe State House via the Expressway on Wednesday, President Museveni found out that UNRA is satisfyingly offering high-quality maintenance, security, and emergency services to all calibers of motorists there.

I used the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway on my way to Entebbe State House today. I commend the value-added services now offered to motorists including high-quality maintenance, security, and emergency services by UNRA,” H.E YK Museveni stated on his Twitter.

The Kampala-Entebbe Expressway is a four-lane toll expressway under Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) linking Entebbe International Airport to Kampala city, Uganda’s capital.

On Saturday January 8, 2022, the Works and Transport Minister Gen. Katumba Wamala flagged off tolling operations at the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.

UNRA handed over the 26.2km expressway to Egis Road Operation to operate and maintain the expressway on May 24, 2021.

There are three tolling plazas on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway; Kajjansi, Busega and Mpala.

Depending on the vehicle’s size, motorists pay between Shs. 2,700 and Shs. 16,200 per trip.

The road includes the 25km toll way section from Busega to Mpala and 1.2km along the Munyonyo Spur Road.
