By Website Writer; The Government of Uganda has released Burial programme for the late Governor Bank of Uganda Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile.
The body of the Late Mutebile was returned in Uganda aboard Kenya Airways on the evening hours of Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from Nairobi, Kenya where he passed on.
The body was received by limited family members and government representatives, and carried by A-plus funeral services to his home in Kololo, Kampala.
According to the released schedule, there will be a vigil at the deceased’s home in Kololo, limited to close family members on Tuesday, January 26, 2022.
On Thursday, January 27, 2022, a special session at Parliament of Uganda has been aligned.
There will be a church service at Kololo ceremonial grounds on Friday, January 28, 2022
Church service at Rugarama Cathedral, Burial at Omuruhita (Kabalw-Kisoro Road) on Sunday, January 30, 2022 before he is laid to rest.
The Late Mutebile breathed his last on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Nairobi Hospital after years of battle with Diabetes related complications.
Mutebile who was first appointed governor in January 2000, remains the longest serving chief executive of the bank since its creation.
He was serving his new term at the time of death, guaranteed to complete 25 years by the time the tenure would end in January 2026.
