By Website Writer; Ugandan author, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija continues to be an online ache to some but though a thriller others for weeks now.
Kakwenza was revealed by his lawyer Eron Kizza to have fled the country on Wednesday evening to Central Europe even without his passport.
He also in the later hours confirmed the reports as he announced Rwanda as his immediate destination by that time.
According to his Eron Kizza, Kakwenza is on run because of the pilling threats his has been receiving from unknown individuals ever since he showed off his bruised and wounded body, that was allegedly tortured by security forces during his time of detention.
Kakwenza running to exile, is said to have been sparked by the fear for losing his life.
However, taking to his twitter on the same evening, Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Commander of the land forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), trashed reports that Kakwenza is in or even passed in Rwanda.
Gen. Muhoozi confirms that his longtime tormentor Kakwenza is not in Rwand after speaking to President Paul Kagame.
“I don’t know who this young boy is whom they say was beaten! I never heard of him until the media started talking about him. I’ve never met him or talked to him and I have no desire to do so. I have just been speaking to President Paul Kagame and he says he is not in Rwanda!!” Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s tweet reads.
Kakwenza was bailed out of jail last month after he was arrested on cases alleged to be of insulting and demeaning Gen. Muhoozi and President Museveni’s dignity via his fabled novel publications like; The Greedy Barbarian and Banana Republic.
