By Website Writer; Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda, Rt Hon. Anita Annet Among has opened up on Speaker Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah’s health.
Rumors for the past weeks have claimed that Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah is in a worrying state.
Some others last weekend reported that he is dead.
However, taking it to her social media, the Bukedea District Women Constituency MP trashed reports about Hon. Oulanyah’s death.
In the same statement, Hon. Anita noted that the Speaker’s health is out of danger and is continues to receive stiff medical attention as required by the doctors.
She also requested countrymen and women to usher prayers to Hon. Oulanyah so that he would meet a quick recovery.
“Fellow Countrymen and Women, Our leader and brother the Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah is receiving treatment as recommended by the doctors. Disregard the falsehoods making rounds on social media about his health. I ask all people of good will to pray for a speedy recovery for him,” Hon. Anitah Among stated.
Oulanyah was last seen in Parliament on December 21, 2021 and last week, he was reported to have been flown out of Uganda.
This was after he was discharged from Mulago National Referral Hospital where he had been admitted for weeks.
However, the cost of his chartered flight to Seattle, United States of America (USA) for specialized treatment caused mixed reactions both online and ground domain.
We are reliably informed that Parliament chattered Uganda Airlines’ Airbus and it charged $500,000 (about Shs1.7 billion).
