By Website Writer; President of Uganda and Commander In Chief (CIC), Gen. YK Tibuhabura Museveni has asked the Commander of Land Forces (CLF), Maj Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to revert his plans of retiring from the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces, this website has learned.
According to a respected source, President Museveni who is also the father to Gen. Muhoozi, after learning about his retirement plans, he called him and advised him to refrain from early retirement from the armed forces.
On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Gen. Muhoozi who in the past been an active tweep shocked the nation as he announced that he will be ‘hanging his boots’ after 28years of service in the military.
“After 28 years of service in my glorious military, the greatest military in the world, I am happy to announce my retirement,” Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba tweeted.
Gen. Muhoozi also revealed satisfaction of the achievements for himself and fellow soldiers that are tirelessly working to defend the country.
“Me and my soldiers have achieved so much! I have only love and respect for all those great men and women that achieve greatness for Uganda everyday,” he added.
The source also reveals that Gen. Muhoozi’s first attempt to exit military service was in 2021 after the army failed to establish reputable accommodation facilities for senior officers at the Uganda General Military Headquarters in Bombo.
The 43-year-old militarily decorated officer on the same note is said to have heavily condemned the level of corruption, funds embezzlement and incompetence in the military governing body in Uganda, Ministry of Defense.
However, the Ministry of Defense understandably is said to have positively responded to Gen. Muhoozi’s complaints.
