By Website Writer; Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Court has today, Wednesday March 23, 2022 issued an arrest warrant for Ugandan novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija.
This follows Kakwenza’s failure to appear in court today as indicated per his court bail served to him in early this year.
In a horrifying way, Kakwenza fled the country to Germany in February 2022 reportedly in search for better medication after he sustain injuries from torture while under army detention.
Court says Kakwenza absconded including his 4 sureties.
The sureties are supposed to appear on April 11, 2022 to explain his where abouts or pay Shs. 10Million.
Kakwenza was arrested in December 2021 on cases of distorting President Museveni and family’s peace.
He was detained to an unknown place and later identified at Kitalya Prison from where he was arraigned before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Douglas Singiza for his bail application.
Kakwenza was granted a cash bail of Shs. 500,000 and his four sureties executed a none cash bond of 10 million Shillings each.
However, its still skeptical to tell how Uganda Police will have to arrest and airlift Kakwenza back to Uganda.
