By Website Writer; Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) Commander of Land Forces, Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has revealed some of the vows he made with Rwanda President H.E Paul Kagame during their last physical encounter.
In January 2022, Gen. Muhoozi who is also son to the President of Uganda H.E YK Museveni flew to Rwandan capital Kigali where he met with H.E Paul Kagame.
The grounds of their meeting were disclosed to have entailed the recent 3-years-old collapsed relationship between Uganda and Rwanda.
The said economic, social and security discussion reaped heavily as the Katuna – Gatuna border was opened later after almost 3years.
However, taking it to his Twitter handle on Friday Gen. Muhoozi unmasked more details that prevailed in his former meeting with Rwanda’s head of state 3months ago.
According to Gen. Muhoozi, he promised never to spear-head any attack on Rwanda by the UPDF.
He also vowed to fire and punish any Uganda security official who would at anytime fight Rwanda.
The 47-years-old military general further promised to share more details regarding his discussion with President Kagame.
“The first day I reconnected with my uncle 3 months ago, I promised him a number of things. First of all, as Commander Land Forces, UPDF, my army would never attack Rwanda. Secondly, no security official of Uganda who fights Rwanda would retain his job. More to follow…,” Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba wrote.
