By Website Writer; On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, National Unity Platform (NUP) President Bobi Wine laid a foundation stone for the establishment of the party’s proposed headquarters at Makerere-Kavule, Kampala.
Apart from Bobi Wine, the event was clad with top NUP officials; Secretary General – David Lewis Rubongoya, Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of Uganda – Mathias Mpuuga, Spokesperson – Joel Ssenyonyi, among others.
In his speech, Bobi Wine appreciated the phenomenal support from Ugandans and committed on-behalf of the party to continue leading the liberation struggle till glory is attained.
“Very pleased today to lay the foundation stone for the establishment of the NUP headquarters in Bwaise, Kavule. Those who dismissed us as a mere wave will soon realize that we are a serious group, committed to leading the liberation struggle to its accomplishment,” Bobi Wine wrote.
The 3-year-old NUP emerged as a symbol of hope and aspiration of Ugandans prior as People Power, a pressure political group in 2017.
Going by the majority of the accounts shared on social media, it’s a challenge set by NUP to the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) that is still without an permanently established structure solely owned by its self.
