Yesterday Wednesday August 17, 2022, COSASE learnt that Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki didn’t meet the minimum academic requirements at the time President Kaguta Museveni appointed her.

Ms. Jennifer Bamuturaki told COSASE that her appointment was directly from the President as she received the job prior her application.

I didn’t apply to be the CEO Uganda Airlines, because the day I was going to apply, I was appointed,” Ms. Jennifer Bamuturaki said.

COSASE also discovered that Bamuturaki only had a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Social Works and Social Administration (SWASA) and lacked post graduate training, an extra requirement.

It does not matter whether I went to the moon or whether I did MDD, what matters is do I have the skill? And I do. I can’t blame myself for being appointed,” Ms Jennifer Bamuturaki,” she told COSASE earlier today.

The Airlines CEO also shocked the committee again when she said ever since she graduated in 1994 from Makerere with a degree in SWASA, she has since never got her academic transcript 28 years later.

She also said she lost her UCE result slip and doesn’t have it.

Director Commercial at Uganda Airlines according to the job description is supposed have a degree in Business Administration or B. Commerce, but the current holder only has certificates from IATA, and most of the studies are still ongoing.
