By Website Writer; Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has distanced itself from allegations that a record-breaking failure has been registered from the recently 2022 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.
Reports made rounds on social media earlier this week rooting from a tweet alleged to have been made by the UNEB ED, Mr. Dan Odongo, revealing that the examination body has had more failures than never before amongst the candidates that wrote the 2022 UCE examinations.
However, UNEB on Wednesday trashed the reports asking the public to treat it with deserved contempt.
“Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) disassociates itself from fake news making rounds on social media to the effect that “Form four candidates failed this year, that teachers have not been teaching”, etc. Please disregard this unfounded and false news,” reads a statement from UNEB.
The examination body also says that the UCE exams are still undergoing the rightful and purposed procedures to avail the final results in a professional manner and on official dates that will be communicated in due course.
“Marking for the 2022 UCE exams is still under way & will be proceeded by a number of quality assurance processes before the final outcome can be determined. The official results of the 2022 Exams will be announced at appropriate dates that will be communicated in due course,” UNEB adds.
It also declines its Executive Director Mr. Dan Odongo from owning a Twitter account as earlier thought by the public.
“Please also note that the UNEB ED, Mr. Dan Odongo whom the quote is attributed to, does not have a twitter handle. The public is hereby asked to remain calm as the Board finalizes the various processes before the release of results.”
