Bobi Wine calls out Hamis Kigundu on money allegedly used to re-develop Nakivubo stadium

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has called out tycoon business man Hamis Kigundu on onmey allegedly used to re-develop Nakivubo stadium. Hamis Kigundu took over Nakivubo stadium years ago and upto now it is not yet near the finishing stages.

According to Hamis Kigundu, the problem was Covid19 that slowed down the process not anything else. Bobi Wine’s claim is about money being spent because he doesn’t understand it any way.   He said other stadiums in other countries were completed in 2020, he doesn’t understand what us going on in Uganda.

He claims to be re-developing Nakivubo Stadium at a mind-bending cost of UGX 737 trillion (USD 200B)! Meanwhile, the most expensive stadium in the world, completed in 2020, cost only UGX 20 trillion. Uganda’s budget for 2023 is UGX 50 trillion. Our GDP is about UGX 156 trillion.

Hopefully, Mr. Ham’s claim was just a slip of the tongue — but that is also doubtful, since the official cost of Nakivubo’s re-development is stated to be UGX 180 billion which is certainly nowhere near 737 trillion! Uganda zaabu ???‍♂️,” Bobi Wine posted
