Eddy Kenzo loses Grammy Award to South Africa’s Nomcebo Zikode

By Website Writer; That’s a wrap for the 2023 GRAMMYs!

Full of groundbreaking performances and history-making GRAMMY wins, the 2023 GRAMMYs, officially known as the 65th GRAMMY Awards, was one of the biggest nights in music history-ever.

The Grammys went down at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

For this year’s edition, it was a point of interest for more Ugandans as their own, Eddy Kenzo was among the nominees in the Best Global Music Performance category.

The Grammys’ “Best Global Music Performance,” category is for new vocal or instrumental Global music recordings.

Apart from Eddy Kenzo and American singer Matt B’s collaboration “Gimme Love” song, Udhero Na (Arooj Aftab & Anoushka Shankar), Last Last (Burna Boy), Neva Bow Down, (Rocky Dawuni Featuring Blvk H3ro), Bayethe (Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode) were the counterparts in the category.

“Bayethe” by Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode took home the Grammy trophy, leaving Ugandans puzzled.

However, it wasn’t the case for the Grammy nominee Eddy Kenzo himself as he proved hopeful for the best in the next try.

For God and my country love and blessings ❤️ one day one time inshallah,” Eddy Kenzo stated.

Eddy Kenzo earned Uganda and the entire East Africa its first Grammy award nod.
