A businessman in Mbarara City identified as Saturday Micheal has been arrested by the Uganda Police Force over allegedly sodomising 6 young men aged between 20 and 24.
During the weekly police security address on Monday 20 February at the Police headquarters in Naguru, Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, told the media that Saturday had allegedly recruited the 6 young men to work in his pineapple distribution company and rented for them a single room in Mbarara City where they resided.
The businessman known as Saturday Michael recruited the 6 young men to work in his company that distributed pineapples all over Mbarara,” Enanga said.
Enanga said the businessman took advantage of their vulnerability and repeatedly sodomised them in the wee hours of the night.
The police spokesperson however revealed that one of the victims whose identity he said needs to protected reported the matter to Police and as a result Saturday got arrested.
In a related incident, a man identified as Matovu Jimmy, a resident of Lubatu-kabaganda village in Kiteezi parish Wakiso district, was also arrested after allegedly trying to rape a male friend whose identity has been concealed.
According to Police, the victim is a 24-year-old male and had been lured by Matovu to his home only to be forced with a knife to undress and have sex with him.
Enanga said the victim managed to escape from his home after fighting him off. He ran to Police to report the incident thereafter and the perpetrator has been arrested.
