Songtress Rahma Pinky and Jeff Kiwanuka were all smiles as they hang out at Jose Chameleone’s Friday concert dubbed Gwanga Mujje. The concert, which was held at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, was celebrity-studded.
Meanwhile, the gesture displayed by Pinky, real name Rahma Nanyanzi — appeared to confirm her earlier comments that her decision to leave Kiwanuka-owned record label Team No Sleep was purely out of career foresight and there was no bad blood between them.
“I know they know that I love what I do, so I can’t make a decision aimed at ruining my career,” Pinky recently told newsmen when she was asked to reassure her fans that leaving won’t hurt her music career.
There were allegations that Jeff Kiwanuka, better known as Jeff Kiwa, fired her because she had become undisciplined.
But she declined to comment on what exactly transpired.
“I won’t say anything [about that],” she said.
Kiwa took on Pinky in December of 2021 after Sheebah Karungi whom he had managed for close to a decade left the label.
But in November 2022 reports emerged that the two had separated, with reports indicating that the songstress had become unruly and started abusing drugs.
Even Lydia Jazmine is said to have gone back under the management of producer and talent manager Bushingtone, real name George Kagoda.
Some industry observers had noted that her career had started tapering.
“Only her pictures are new. On Instagram, she frequently posts. If she could use the same energy she invests in Instagram in music!” music analyst Jenkins Mukasa said recently.
Lydia Jazmine’s recent hit songs are Omutima and Kapeesa.
