South African-based Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has revealed that her Nikah ceremony with partner Shakib Cham was organized in a short period of just 48 hours.
Over the weekend, Zari Hassan and her lover Shakib Cham real name Shakib Lutaaya formalised their relationship in a Muslim ceremony dubbed Nikah.
The couple’s low-key Nikah ceremony, which was attended by intimate friends and family, was planned in the shortest period of time.
Addressing the development in a video obtained by Exclusive Bizz, Zari revealed that earlier last year, Shakib cheekily hinted at marrying her, little did she know that he was serious.
During the ongoing Ramadhan, Shakib jetted into South Africa and notified Zari about his intentions of marrying her in the next few hours.
He consulted Muslim clerics, Nikah’s date was set, and the arrangement lasted between 24 to 48 hours.
They informed the relevant family members, who attended the event to watch the pair take this important step in their lives.
Zari maintained that their Nikah sat down well with very many people, who wished them well in their marriage, yet there is a section of critics that claimed that the couple performed the ceremony under duress.
The mother of five said that they held their Nikah ceremony on their own initiative and for the benefit of their marriage, not because they were influenced to do so by anyone.
