Renowned Ugandan blogger Ibrahim Tusubira alias Isma Olaxess is dead, reports say.
Tusubira, the chairperson of Uganda Bloggers Association popularly known as Iculi, is said to have been shot in his car by assailants riding on a motorbike near his home in Kyanja, a Kampala suburb ,]on Saturday night.
The president of Uganda Bloggers Association was shot several times while going back to his home in Kyanja around Ring Road. One of the bullets went through his eye killing him on spot.
Unknown gunman followed him on a boda boda and killed him, with allegations that his death is linked to his bitter comments about the recently murdered state minister for labor.
Photos and videos shared widely on social media on Saturday night showed an unresponsive Tusubira in a white vest covered in blood.
Most recently, Isma Olaxes produced a video where he was celebrating the death of Minister Charles Okello Engola, accusing him of failure to look after his workers including his shooter and bodyguard, Private Wilson Sabiiti.
Iculi castigated the late minister Engola for causing the arrest of Ugandan Citizens and claiming the UPDF personnel captured battering Ugandans on video were from West Africa.
Isma was shot just a few meters from where the minister of labor was murdered from this week.
Police are yet to comment on the shooting.
