Zari says she didn’t see herself getting romantically involved with Diamond Platinumz because of his status., as their relationship with Platinumz became public in 2014.
At that time, he was a high-flying star, with multiple notches on his belt, including earning a nomination at BET Awards 2014 for Best International Act: Africa.
So, when Zari, real name Zarinah Hassan, met him, she didn’t see them getting into a long-term relationship.
“When I got with him, I wasn’t sure I would date him… Honestly, I was like, he is a big guy, he is out there… he is not for me.” Zari says.
Zari’s romantic relationship with Platinumz, real name Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, was initiated shortly after her split from her late baby daddy Ivan Don Semwanga.
Semwanga had splurged on an introduction ceremony in 2011, but they would split in 2013, with Zari accusing him of domestic violence.
Semwanga and Zari had three kids, namely: Pinto Semwanga, Dido Semwanga and George Semwanga.
Plantinumz and Zari were together for about four years, breaking up on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018. Their children are Latifah Dangote, aka Tifah (daughter) and Prince Nillan (son).
Zari and Platinumz split after she learnt that he had cheated on her with Tanzanian singer and socialite Hamisa Mobetto.
Platinumz and Mobetto have a son named Dylan Abdul Naseeb.
Platinumz had proposed to marry Zari, but the latter would later tell the media that she refused to marry him because he had broken her trust.
Zari is now married to Shakib Lutaaya, alias Cham.
