Frank Gashumba said Bobi Wine shouldn’t have been allowed to speak at Kato Lubwama’s burial after contributing Shs1 million only.
Gashumba also noted that the former presidential candidate can only be taken seriously by clueless people.
“I saw Bobi Wine, as usual, instigating his fools,” said the controversial social commentator while appearing on NBS T.V. “He is just provocative.”
Frank Gashumba, who is the National Vice Chairman for the M.K. Movement in Buganda, also claimed that Bobi Wine is a liar for claiming that he had no issues with Lubwama yet he allowed an N.U.P. candidate to run against him in the Rubaga South constituency.
Gashumba asserted that Wine shouldn’t be criticising Eddy Kenzo yet he only contributed Shs1 million yet the Uganda National Musicians Federation, which Kenzo leads, contributed Shs10 million.
Gashumba said he supports the Federation’s mission though he advised Kenzo and his committee to invest more time in sensitising the public about what they are doing because the criticism they are getting could be from people that don’t understand what they are doing.
The businessman is not the first public figure to claim Wine is mean after giving only Shs1 million in condolence cash. Pastor Aloysius Bugingo attacked him over the same.
Bobi Wine ruffled the feathers of artistes when he berated them during Kato Lubwama’s burial, citing scheming in the Federation.
Some musicians didn’t like the tone Wine used while addressing them.
On Thursday night, Eddy Kenzo took to social media to respond cryptically respond to Wine who had earlier called them beggars.
He said the Federation is about fighting for the rights of musicians and pushing for a law that will see them earn from their royalties.
Some critics believe Eddy Kenzo was speaking out of anger and that he had misinterpreted Bobi Wine’s comments.
Responding to critics in a media interview, Kenzo noted that it’s his mandate to defend musicians, as he is their leader. He also noted that correcting them is also his duty and Wine is also among the musicians he leads.
“If I wasn’t the president, I would be quiet… the onus is on me to defend musicians as their leader,” said Kenzo.
“Even Kyagulanyi is under me because he is a musician and I’m a president elect… That’s why I have to come out and correct him, because I’m his leader.”
Asked what he thinks of netizens that are attacking him through social media, the Sitya Loss hitmaker said:
“I’m Eddy Kenzo of Africa, of the world, a Grammy-nominated artiste. I’m a very focused artiste. I only talked about issues of national importance.
“Artistes who haven’t understood what we are doing should come for meetings and we educate them instead of relying on rumours.”
Bebe Cool also released a statement attacking Bobi Wine.
